Where every table tells a story

Our story

Hey! I’m Madeline. The Table Fete started long before the idea came about. As a young girl, my family taught me the necessity in creating delight around me. From gardening with my Dad and canning veggies with my step Mom to cooking (and eating) a leisurely brunch at a gorgeously set table with my Mom, they all found ways to make even the most mundane tasks feel special. They taught me that these everyday duties weren’t at all common or casual, but in fact, little opportunities for light and brevity, where we could create family culture, grow in relationship, and appreciate creativity.

This lesson grew in importance as I started my own family, and our dining room table became a sacred place for us. It became a place where we held fast to each other in a culture that prioritizes individuality and productivity more and more. A place where we grew closer together, sometimes surrounded by luscious florals and copper chargers, and other times seated at paper plates and paper towels for napkins. Even today as I look around the dining table at my sweet children, one on the cusp of adulthood and three barely old enough to tie their shoes, I hope this place moors them. I hope they will have precious memories here, made over weeknight meals, holiday feasts, leftovers before soccer practice, homework time, card games, lectures, crafts, birthdays, baby showers, graduations. All of it meaningful, all of it lovely.

And, that is how The Table Fete was born; as an endeavor to give the gift of beauty for the times that mean it most. For me, it has always been amongst the glowing hearts of a family seeking beauty in what is given to us while we are here, and more importantly, while we are together.

Selected With Care

Many of the pieces I personally use in my own tablescape designs are family heirlooms, passed down from the generations before me. Most others have been lovingly selected from sustainable sources such as second hand shops and antique stores. After meeting with you and creating an inspiration launching point, I will curate a specific and unique tablescape for your event. I largely still source from affordable places, which keeps the charm high and budget cost effective. This is what sets me apart from other designers. Your tablescape will be one of a kind - and even better - you get to keep your pieces when all is said and done. Whether it be contemporary selections intermingled with traditional elements or designs grounded in whimsy and color, I want your table to sing the stories of who you are and where you came from.
